Dr Hemah Sakarapani

Dr Hemah studied and graduated from the University of Western Australia in 2000. Coming from a family of medical practitioners, Dr Hemah did her training in Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital and Fremantle Hospital prior to completing her General Practice qualifications and obtaining fellowship with the Royal Australian College of General Practice.

Dr Hemah brings with her more than two decades of general practice experience. She has a keen interest in preventive healthcare and chronic disease management as well as bariatric medicine. A firm believer in the holistic approach to healthcare, Dr Hemah also has certification in Ayurvedic Medicine.

In her free time, Dr Hemah meditates and practices mindfulness. She enjoys musicals and theatre shows. Dr Hemah is also actively involved in Health in Kind, an Non Government Organization that provides healthcare, educare and sociocare within Australia and internationally. She also provides health education to students from refugee and migrant backgrounds.
