Do we accept new patients?We most certainly do.

How can I make an appointment?Appointments can be made via Phone – please call 93101234 Health Engine – an online appointment provider – please download the app. Website – please visit www.willettonmedical.com.au

Am I able to get an appointment on the same day?We will try our level best to offer you a same-day appointment; this may not be with the doctor of your choice. However, all doctors are more than qualified to deal with the healthcare needs that you may have.

How long are the appointments?Standard appointments are for 15 minutes Long appointments are between 15 minutes to 30 minutes Prolong appointments are for more than 30 minutes Please advise reception or book online accordingly if you need a longer appointment.

Are phone appointments available?Yes, for patients that have tested positive for COVID. Yes, in an emergency or at the discretion of the doctor. This phone consult may be privately billed. We encourage patients to come in for face-to-face appointments.

If I have a cough / cold / flu / fever (Upper Respiratory Tract Infection) / diarrhoea / rash, can I come into the surgeryPlease inform the receptionist if you have any of the above mentioned symptoms You will need to do a RAT test, ½ hour prior to your appointment. If your RAT test result is negative, you will be allowed to come into the surgery for an appointment. Please bring your RAT result with you. If your result is positive, please inform the receptionist who will be able to arrange for a phone appointment. Please refer to Infection Control Policy

Will there be charges for my consultation?Yes as we are a mixed billing practice. For more details, please refer to the Billing Page

Why do I get multiple appointment reminders?The first appointment reminder is sent 2 days prior to your appointment and the second reminder is 2 hours prior to the appointment, giving you ample notice regarding your appointment. Please reply Y or N to the reminders

Do I need to see the doctor for repeat prescriptions and/or to renew referrals to specialist?Yes, you do. To ensure the safe and effective use of medications, it is necessary to schedule a doctor’s appointment for repeat prescriptions. Similarly, for renewal of referrals to the specialist, the doctor needs to assess your condition and ensure the renewed referral reflects your current condition and current need for assessment from the specialist.

I have lost the prescriptions given to me. Can I get a replacement prescription on the phone?This is solely at the discretion of the doctor. All Schedule 4 and 8 drugs will NOT be issued over the phone, even if it is for a replacement of a lost script. If the doctor agrees to issue a replacement script over the phone, please note that there is a $10.00 administrative charge for this service. This fee must be paid before the request can be fulfilled.

Can I get a medical certificate without seeing a doctor?To obtain a medical certificate, it is necessary to schedule an appointment with a doctor. A medical certificate is a legal document that verifies your medical condition. Medical certificates cannot be backdated.

How can I transfer my medical records to Willetton Medical Centre?When you register as a new patient, we will not automatically gain access to your previous health information. To ensure that we have all the information we need to continue your care seamlessly, you may wish to request a transfer of your records from your previous practice. Please ask our reception team for a transfer of records form and once signed and completed, we will send the form to your previous clinic who will transfer your records to our practice. Your previous practice may charge a fee to cover the administrative cost, prior to sending your medical record in a confidential encrypted format to us. Once received, we then securely upload the electronic data file into our medical practice software and integrate it into the ongoing medical notes we record.

What do I do if I need after-hours medical care?After-hours medical care is available at any Urgent Care Clinics near you. Should you require a doctor to visit you, please contact Night Doctor 1300 644 483. https://nightdr.com.au

What is My Health Record?My Health Record is an online summary of your key health information. You can register here for a personally controlled 'My Health Record' and have important health information like allergies, current conditions and treatments, medicine details, pathology reports or diagnostic imaging scan reports digitally stored in one place.
